Assistance Dog Training
I previously worked at Canine Partners as a trainer of assistance dogs. I am currently a trainer of assistance dogs at for Dog A.I.D. I am qualified to train assistance dogs for tasks to assist disabled people in their everyday lives.
There are various assistance dog charities in the UK. Assistance Dogs UK (ADUK) is the umbrella organisation for these charities and provides information on the different types of dogs and the law in relation to assistance dogs. In order for a dog to have legal access rights to public places and to wear a jacket I would recommend having a dog trained through one of the ADUK charities.
Outside of ADUK I have worked with clients and their children who have various physical or mental health conditions and developmental or learning disabilities to train their own dogs. Please note that such training of Helper Dogs does not allow the dogs to have legal access rights to public places.
