Basic / Obedience Training

I can work with you and your dog on his basic training resulting in a more responsive dog.

I focus on effective communication helping you to develop a more harmonious relationship with your dog.

Basic training may be carried out with dogs of all ages and helps enrich their life.

The following are examples of basic training I can help you with:

  • Sit
  • Down
  • Recall
  • Retrieve
  • Stay
  • Walking under control on lead
  • Getting in and out of the car under control

I can also cover basic training using the Kennel Club Good Citizen Dog Scheme structure.

Basic training session can optionally be conducted in your home or local park as a Groundwork Training service where I work with your dog for you.

Q: What's the difference between basic training and obedience training?
A: Obedience is the old-fashioned term for basic training with the implication of dominance. I believe the basis of good training is good communication.
